As a Business Analyst in our Product Control team, you will play a critical role in supporting the bank's Product Control and Finance Control functions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Accounting and Financial Analysis: You will be responsible for supporting the accounting sub-ledger functions, including daily trial balance, P&L, and balance sheet finalization processes.
- Product Control Valuation: You will work on product control valuation processes and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information.
- MI Reporting: You will be responsible for creating and maintaining management information reports for senior management, providing insights into financial performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: You will support Markets Finance initiatives driven by the Regulatory SIP program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements: Determine business requirements and prioritize them for change, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Functional Requirements: Define functional requirements, reflecting business needs, and develop approaches to deliver them through process changes or technology solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with Risk, Finance, and Treasury stakeholders to document business outcomes, functional specifications, and product backlogs for new Finance initiatives.
- Requirements Gathering: Define detailed business and integration requirements using Confluence/Wiki-based documentation, aligned with Agile/sprint-based development methodologies.
- GUI Mock-ups: Create detailed GUI mock-ups and visual requirements to present alongside user requirements to development/feature teams and key business stakeholders.
- Issue Resolution: Analyze UAT issues and assist Business users/developers with issue resolution.
- Query Analysis: Analyze and respond to queries from Finance Product Owners/Users.
- Process Improvement: Identify functional gaps in systems and enable them to be resolved through process changes/technology solutions, providing recommendations for process re-engineering and improvements.
About You
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a Finance or related field (BA/BS).
- Experience: 10+ years of experience and expertise as a Business Analyst, with 10+ years of experience and proficient expertise with Business Analysis tools and Agile software (JIRA, Agile Central).
- Finance Expertise: Proven experience in Finance processes, particularly sub-ledger accounting functions, and ability to account for business events and understand how accounting data impacts Finance and Operations processes and controls.
- Agile Methodologies: In-depth knowledge and experience of Agile SDLC concepts, including Scrum/Kanban Agile SDLC methodology.
- Stakeholder Management: Extensive experience handling stakeholders across the Senior Business (Director and Managing Director Level).
- Training and Development: Ability to train junior BA's and pass on best practice procedures in business and data analysis.
