We are seeking an experienced Principal Technical Safety Engineer to join our client based in the UK.

As a hybrid role, this position offers the flexibility to work remotely 12 days a month, with the option to carry over one day to the next month. This translates to approximately 60% of the time being available for remote work, making it an attractive opportunity for individuals who value flexibility.

Key Projects:

Our client is involved in various projects, including:

  • Carbon Capture
  • Onshore and Offshore Operations
  • Hydrogen and Renewables

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking analysis, calculations, and engineering studies as assigned, producing technical safety deliverables in accordance with company standards and international codes.
  • Demonstrating experience in delivering Technical Safety work, including:
    • Loss Prevention Activities (e.g., Fire and Gas Design, Active/Passive Fire Protection, Hazardous Area Classification).
    • Risk Analysis (e.g., Quantitative Risk Assessment, Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis, Flare/Vent Studies).
    • Development of Health, Safety, and Environment-related Philosophies.
    • Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Studies.
    • Conducting Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments.
    • Supervising subordinates to ensure technical standards and project schedules are met.
    • Participating in the development of company standards and procedures when assigned.
    • Assisting with manhour estimates and planning activities for proposals and projects when required.
    • Staying updated on technical developments, relevant standards, and departmental procedures.
    • Actively participating in technical safety reviews, such as HAZOP and SIL assessments.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in engineering.
  • Experience in various project phases, including Concept, Basic/FEED, and Detail Engineering, for both onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects.
