As a qualified Electrical Fitter in Field Service, you will engage with clients on-site, possessing a comprehensive understanding of power generation operations. Your expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems will be essential for executing daily responsibilities across various technologies. You will undertake a variety of maintenance tasks at diverse customer locations throughout the UK and Ireland, with potential opportunities for international assignments. Working collaboratively in both large and small teams, you will demonstrate motivation, self-awareness, and respect for your colleagues, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an Electrical Fitter (Winder) for Field Service projects at designated customer locations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of generator mechanical and electrical operations, demonstrating proficiency across various technologies.
  • Apply trade-specific skills as an Electrical Fitter, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and competently.
  • Follow high-level instructions from supervisors and site managers.
  • Take responsibility for your work, adhering to established guidelines and promptly addressing any issues or defects.
  • Assist in the execution of daily tasks and contribute to resolving site-related challenges.
  • Complete inspection records as required by supervisors, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and be familiar with risk assessments and safe working practices.
  • Exhibit commitment to site objectives and processes.
  • Participate in training to enhance skills in identified areas.
  • Support the development of junior employees when necessary.
  • Maintain an exemplary attendance record and demonstrate flexibility in work arrangements.
  • Uphold company initiatives focused on safety and quality.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an electrical/mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in electrical fitting (winding), preferably in power generation environments.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with repairs on various types of generator stators and rotors.
  • Familiarity with mechanical disassembly and reassembly during generator overhauls.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve objectives.
  • Adaptability to meet the evolving demands of site work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is advantageous.
