Senior Security Operations Centre Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Security Operations Centre Analyst to join our team at the General Medical Council (GMC). As a key member of our IS team, you will play a critical role in the delivery of our services and be responsible for defending our systems from attack by monitoring, preventing, detecting, investigating, and responding to cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with colleagues to defend our systems from attack by monitoring, preventing, detecting, investigating, and responding to cyber threats.
- Provide effective analysis, triage, and handling of security events and incidents, acting as a point of escalation for the SOC analysts, providing guidance and mentoring.
- Play a key part in maturing Threat Hunting activities.
What You'll Need:
- Extensive technical, hands-on experience, detecting, analysing, and responding to security incidents and events, gained in a Security Operations Centre (SOC), strong knowledge of SIEM technologies and the interpersonal skills to work professionally with internal and external customers to identify and respond to incidents as quickly as possible and continually improve our monitoring and response capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers at all levels.
