About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Change Grow Live as a Recovery Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals seeking drug and alcohol treatment support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an outreach-tasked caseload of individuals aged 18+ seeking drug and alcohol treatment support, from the point of entry to treatment and throughout their journey with the service.
  • Provide screening, assessment, and recovery planning, as well as onward referral to relevant services.
  • Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promote carer, service user, and community involvement.
  • Offer short-term structured treatment interventions over the telephone and video calls, utilizing digital communications technology effectively.
  • Work with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  • Contact individuals who have been referred to the Flex Team within 3 days, including weekends.
  • Engage in debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have taken place, reviewing progress and identifying concerns with service users.
  • Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users, such as anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the services' clinical team, psychology staff, workforce development, and quality & governance to provide evidence-based, free, confidential, and non-judgmental support.
  • Assess individual risk and need, including the use of AUDIT (alcohol use disorders identification test) and SADQ (severity of alcohol dependence questionnaire) tools.
  • Collaborate with clinical practitioners to evaluate and support medical needs, coordinate opiate substitute treatment, carry out drug screening tests, preparatory work, and reports for further treatment support.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience working within a similar field.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behavior.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with good IT skills.
  • Proactive and able to work on your own initiative, with excellent time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
  • Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change successfully, prioritizing the needs of service users.
  • Understanding of the importance of information governance processes and commitment to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
  • Will to seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills, as well as contribute to and oversee the learning and development of others.
