Lead Social Work Practitioner

Position Overview
This role is situated within the Alva region, collaborating closely with the children and families locality team as well as the Through Care and After Care team.
The primary responsibility is to support Team Leaders in enhancing the effectiveness of the Children's Social Work Service. This includes providing supervision, guidance, and consultation to staff and students as necessary. The role involves fostering partnerships with various services offered to families, whether they are internal or external to the Council.
Staying informed about legislative changes, statutory guidance, and advancements in theory and practice is essential, and sharing this knowledge with staff is a key component of the role. The practitioner will manage a smaller caseload consisting of complex cases and may occasionally act in place of the Team Manager, consistently advocating for exemplary professional practice.
The responsibilities also include drafting and presenting reports for Children's Hearings, Case Conferences, and similar forums. When required, the practitioner will oversee the implementation and execution of group work and related initiatives. As directed by the management team, the role may involve leading on significant areas of practice development, such as Youth Justice, Kinship Care, Fostering, and Adoption.

This position is classified as Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. Please note that if your salary exceeds £38,000 per annum, you will be responsible for the cost of this application, which will be deducted from your initial paycheck.
