The Team
As an Environmental Crime Officer, you will be part of a specialized enforcement team dedicated to:
• Minimizing environmental violations.
• Effectively addressing complex and serious infractions.
• Managing local intelligence.
• Providing expert enforcement support and guidance.
• Enhancing prevention and enforcement knowledge.
Your Responsibilities:
In this role, you will collaborate closely with a Senior Environmental Crime Officer to conduct investigations and implement enforcement actions. Your responsibilities will include:
• Compiling comprehensive case files.
• Identifying and investigating violations, including site inspections.
• Analyzing evidence from investigations.
• Reviewing data systems for reports of violations.
• Drafting statements and gathering witness accounts.
• Presenting evidence.
• Conducting interviews under caution with suspected violators.
• Preparing case files in accordance with legal standards.
What You Will Need:
Essential Qualifications:
This position requires travel, so a full UK Manual Driving License is necessary. You should have experience in investigative or regulatory roles and familiarity with customer interactions. Attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of environmental legislation, including the Environmental Permitting Regulations.
• Knowledge of investigative laws, such as the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and partners.
• Familiarity with corporate investigations.
