Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team in a specialist pharmacy department in West London. The successful candidate will have strong experience in Oncology and Haematology and will be responsible for providing a high-quality pharmacy service to patients with cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screening Oncology and Haematology prescriptions for the Chemotherapy day unit and Haematology day unit
  • Providing a ward-based and day-care specialist pharmacy cancer service to haematology and oncology cancer patients
  • Developing, providing, managing, and monitoring a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to haematology and oncology cancer patients
  • Providing highly specialist pharmaceutical input to these patients, working with the multidisciplinary team
  • Participating in risk management by actively mitigating medication errors in the service
  • Supporting the provision of supervision, support, and clinical training for pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals around medicines management for cancer services
  • Making cost-effective recommendations without compromising patient care
  • Deputising for the lead pharmacist in their absence
  • Communicating complex drug or medicine-related information to patients and relatives in prescription medication counselling, drug history taking, and reviewing prescription
Requirements
  • Experience in Oncology and Haematology
  • Completed the SACT passport
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
