About the Role

The Head of Compliance and Risk Management will be responsible for leading the company's compliance and risk management efforts, ensuring that all business activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

This role will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and will be the global business lead for all matters relating to risk, compliance, insurance, and business ethics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance program that aligns with the company's business objectives
  • Chairing the Risk Management Committee and Governance & Compliance Committee to ensure effective risk management and compliance
  • Providing strategic advice to the Global Leadership Team on risk and compliance matters
  • Managing the company's conflicts of interest register and annual renewal of disclosures
  • Ensuring global compliance with the company's Ethical Code
  • Supporting the business in managing risk by working with underwriters to embed risk mitigation strategies

Responsibilities

The Head of Compliance and Risk Management will be responsible for:

  • Managing the global risk register and chairing the quarterly Risk Management Committee
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve overall risk monitoring, mitigation, and management
  • Acting as a strategic business partner to the Global Leadership Team and fostering an ethos of engagement and empowerment with risk management

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A solid track record of working in / leading a compliance, internal control, and/or risk / governance department
  • Prior experience in retail or FMCG / large corporate
  • Leading a compliance or risk management function and accountability in leading the department
  • Capability to adapt to changing priorities inline with business and organisational needs
  • High levels of professional resilience and flexibility and an ability to self-start and maintain momentum on multiple projects, across multiple jurisdictions and workstreams
  • Collaborative and commercially minded, ensuring decisions are made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures and business practices to achieve complex results
