Job Description

About the Role:

The Briggs Equipment Ltd is seeking a skilled Forklift Maintenance Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of forklifts and other heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend customer locations to assess and agree on work priorities, ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
  • Liaise with customers and the controller to provide clarity on expected work, timescales, and associated costs.
  • Identify the root cause of breakdowns and obtain the correct parts in a cost-effective manner, utilizing available resources, including the Briggs Technical team when necessary.
  • Ensure all work complies with engineering standards and relevant specifications.
  • Carry out inspections and checks on own work, ensuring equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing it back to the customer.
  • Identify any further work required on a machine and inform the customer, especially where a cost is to be incurred.
  • Complete all related job and service documentation correctly, obtaining necessary signatures and documents from the customer.
  • KPIs:
    • Ensure safety gains are raised as required.
    • Raise at least one estimate for every four services.
    • Keep WIP to no more than ten jobs.
    • Ensure patched trucks are PM compliant.

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical principles.
  • The ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize workload.
  • Understanding customer needs.

What We Offer:

  • A base salary up to £34,232 per annum based on a 40-hour working week.
  • Overtime is payable at x1.5 Monday to Saturday and x2 on Sunday.
