Senior Town Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Town Planner to join our team in Exeter. As a Senior Town Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing our nationwide planning operations and providing expert advice on planning matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop creative and original planning solutions to meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare policy presentations, project proposals, and tender responses to support our planning operations.
  • Manage client relationships and grow our workload in the area.
  • Consult with stakeholders and other interested parties to ensure that our planning operations are aligned with their needs and expectations.
  • Negotiate with developers and other professionals to ensure that our planning operations are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assess planning applications and monitor outcomes to ensure that our planning operations are compliant with relevant legislation.
  • Research and analyze data to inform strategic developments and improve our planning operations.
  • Design layouts and draft design statements to support our planning operations.
  • Attend and present at planning boards, appeals, and public inquiries to represent our interests.
Requirements:
  • Relevant planning degree within MRTPI/RTPI/RICS.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Project delivery experience.
  • Ability to keep up to date with legislation associated with land use.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
