Position Overview

Baltic Apprenticeships is looking for a committed and driven individual to fill the role of an IT Support Apprentice. This apprenticeship presents an excellent opportunity to acquire practical experience in a vibrant and encouraging setting.

Baltic Apprenticeships is a prominent provider of training solutions, focused on enhancing the educational experience for both students and educators. As an IT Support Apprentice, you will collaborate with a skilled team and play a part in their mission to empower educational institutions.

In this position, you will work towards achieving your IT Support Level 3 qualification, guided by our proficient training team.

Key Responsibilities:

As an IT Support Apprentice, your duties will encompass a variety of tasks, including:

  • Providing remote assistance for helpdesk inquiries and delivering prompt technical support.
  • Handling helpdesk calls, documenting and tracking issues, and ensuring all concerns are accurately logged and resolved.
  • Conducting hardware and software repairs in a well-equipped workshop.
  • Assisting with the installation of hardware and software, ensuring smooth integration and operation.
  • Maintaining accurate records through network documentation and reporting.
  • Helping to source IT equipment and software for ongoing projects.
  • Participating in on-site visits to educational institutions, offering technical support and troubleshooting as required.

Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by your workplace mentor and the Baltic team.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Annual salary of £12,500 throughout the apprenticeship.
  • Full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
  • Mileage allowance of 45p per mile for travel beyond your standard commute.
  • 23 days of holiday for relaxation and personal time.
  • Access to pension contributions, private healthcare, employee assistance programs, and life assurance.
  • A structured training and progression plan as part of your employment with Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, we seek candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Desirable experience in hardware repair and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • While not mandatory, prior exposure to hardware and software support is advantageous.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively and empathetically with end-users.
