About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Safety Scientist to join our dynamic and cohesive team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a senior member of the Medical Physics Department, providing expert advice on radiation safety and protection.
  • Lead on projects and areas of work, including the development of new techniques and procedures, and the optimization of existing clinical protocols.
  • Provide specialist scientific support and advice to clinicians and other staff on complex issues related to radiation safety.
  • Collaborate with clinical colleagues to engage in research and development activities, and stay up-to-date with new developments in the field.
Requirements
  • Initial degree in a numerate subject, with an MSc in a relevant subject.
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist, with evidence of post-qualification specialist training (CPD).
  • Enrolled on a recognized CPD scheme.
  • Expert theoretical and practical knowledge of radiation safety and protection.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Corporate Member of IPEM.
  • PhD or equivalent expertise.
  • MPE/RPA status.
  • Experience of working in a training or management role.
