We are seeking a Lead Support Specialist to become an integral part of our dedicated team.

This position entails offering emotional assistance to individuals in distress, creating a secure environment for them to discuss their experiences, providing practical help to tackle issues that may be contributing to their distress, and collaborating with them to devise strategies for enhancing their circumstances to avert future crises.

This role necessitates participation in a rotating schedule for a 24-hour service (including shifts - days, evenings, overnight stays, and wake nights).

Key Details:

  • Permanent employment contract
  • Annual salary of £25,060
  • Additional compensation for overnight stays and unsociable hours
  • Shifts will encompass a combination of days, overnight stays, and wake nights.
  • 37 hours of work per week

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide empathetic support to individuals in distress.
  • Collaborate with clients and professionals to address social and practical challenges contributing to their distress.
  • Work in conjunction with the Crisis Team to ensure pertinent information is communicated effectively.
  • Engage clients in the development, operation, assessment, and future enhancement of the services and support they receive.
  • Involve individuals in the design, execution, and evaluation of the service.
  • Coordinate with other organizations on behalf of clients as part of long-term and crisis intervention support, including participation in joint meetings.
  • Assist clients in accessing information and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all support provided.

What We Require:

  • Understanding of trauma-informed practices, attachment theory, and relationship-centered approaches.
  • Experience in the mental health sector and/or supporting individuals facing emotional distress.
  • Proven experience in involving service users in the design and development of the services they utilize, with a strong emphasis on listening to those with lived experiences.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of Welfare Benefits.
  • Awareness of adult safeguarding principles.
  • Self-awareness and a commitment to engaging in reflective practice and ongoing personal growth.
  • Experience in managing work schedules.
  • Familiarity with shift work.
  • Ability to complete or currently possess a DBS check.
  • A valid driver's license is essential for this position.
