Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at Spire Global, Inc. as a Material Planner. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position with the potential to be extended or made permanent, depending on business needs and individual performance.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team and will be expected to work closely with the manufacturing and engineering teams to plan hardware deliveries, track progress, and provide detailed status reporting.

This role offers a dynamic opportunity to maintain and optimize the Platform demand plan and work order list, ensuring seamless coordination across Project Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Platform demand plan and work order list, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure all deliverable hardware is listed and tracked, and that any issues or risks are identified and addressed.
  • Prepare a weekly material shortage report detailing part delivery status and any risks, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing team to track critical deliveries and ensure timely receipt of materials.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and own/support delivery of these projects, driving efficiency and enhancing overall project delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field, such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Proficient user of MS Office/Google packages, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in MRP/ERP systems, with Oracle NetSuite experience being a distinct advantage.
  • Solution-driven approach to daily operational issues, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Able to work on your initiative and be self-motivated, with a positive approach and strong written and verbal communication skills.
