We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Officer to join our team at the Adler Pelzer Group's manufacturing site in Tipton, UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all site safety and environmental issues, ensuring that our operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain all site HSE policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage actions to deal with site safety issues, including conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures.
  • Manage training activities related to compliance, such as MEWP, First Aid, and Fire safety.
  • Coordinate the testing of fire alarms and emergency equipment, maintaining records of same.
  • Coordinate plant risk assessments with other departmental managers.
  • Maintain a database of contractors and their documentation.
  • Manage insurance matters, including EL claims.
  • Coordinate accident and near-miss reporting, investigation, and remedial actions.
  • Liaise with landlords, local councils, contractors, and building surveyors as required.
  • Create and maintain key HSE KPIs on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure all new employees receive a robust HSE induction on commencement of employment.
  • Ensure internal HSE audits are carried out according to plan and support all internal and external audit programs.
  • Visibility on the shop floor via safety walks on a daily basis.
  • Advise and assist with any other relevant HSE-related matters as required.
Requirements
  • Excellent IT skills and general knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • NEBOSH Certificate level.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Internal Auditor for ISO14001.
  • Experience in environmental management.
Personal Skills
  • Organized and methodical approach to role responsibilities.
  • Experience of working in a similar environment.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining HSE records.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to deal with managers and employees at all levels.
