About the Role

SLR Consulting is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its busy Civil & Structural Engineering team as an Associate or Principal grade. The successful candidate will be based in either our Bradford on Avon or Bristol office and support our existing established civil & structural engineering team, and will act as project manager and/or lead designer on a number of projects across the infrastructure, power, industry, and built environment sectors.

  • Overall Project and Programme Management;
  • Commercial support throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work independently and within a team to deliver projects and assist with proposal development. They will act as a project manager, lead designer, write proposals, and manage clients and the interface with clients. They will lead on projects and will be expected to mentor and coach other engineers within the team and support the sector and client leads across the business.

You will have the opportunity to work and travel across Europe and internationally.

Requirements
  • A solid track record managing projects, working in the UK on civil engineering projects.
  • Experience of leading and managing teams of professional, engineering, and operational staff in a project, consultancy, or contracting environment, including proposal and tender writing experience.
  • Strong leadership, project management, organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and managing, mentoring, and coaching staff.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK engineering guidance.
  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
  • Must have a full, current, driving license valid in the UK.
  • IT literate, word, excel, MS Project.
  • Procurement and specification writing.
