As a key member of the Pharmacy team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy services across the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the provision of high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities- Assist the Procurement and Distribution Team Leader in the planning, development, and delivery of pharmacy services, including procurement, storage, and distribution of medicines.
- Provide professional leadership and management of pharmacy technicians, pre-registration staff, and support workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services.
- Manage regional and national contracts, ensuring departmental compliance and implementing necessary changes to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive and high-quality service.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines, including the management of medical gases and adherence to relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of pharmacy services, including the provision of training and education to staff.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust's pharmacy strategy, ensuring alignment with national and local priorities.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- First-line management training or a management qualification.
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in delivering a Procurement and Distribution service, including hospital pharmacy experience.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload, negotiate and work through difficult situations, and use own initiative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
