Pharmacy Team Leader

As a key member of the Pharmacy Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Procurement and Distribution (P&D) team in providing safe, high-quality patient-centered services. This includes managing the storage of medicines, including medical gases, in accordance with the "Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Distributors" and the Trust's Wholesale Distribution Authorization (WDA).
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies for the planning, development, monitoring, audit, evaluation, and delivery of P&D services across the Trust.
- Ensure that working practices meet the requirements of medicines legislation, as well as professional, local, and national guidelines.
- Implement necessary changes to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality service.
- Provide professional leadership and management of all aspects of P&D services for staff members, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pre-registration staff, trainee pharmacists, and support workers.
- Manage regional and national contracts and ensure departmental compliance.
- Ensure that appropriate training is provided and documented for all staff working in the area.
- Promote excellence within the P&D department and model behaviors of continuous learning and improvement to others.
- Represent the Trust at regional and national levels and participate in the wider strategic agenda for pharmacy technicians.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- First-line management training or a management qualification.
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician.
- Pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician assessor course or Workplace Training supervisor.
- CIPS qualification.
- Hospital Pharmacy Experience.
- Experience in delivering a Procurement and Distribution service.
- Experience of line managing and following HR policies.
- Experience of day-to-day supervision and training.
- The ability to prioritize and manage own workload and that of the team.
- Able to write and implement procedures.
- Able to negotiate and work through difficult situations.
- IT literate.
- Good personal organizational skills and the ability to organize others.
- Able to work as a team-leader.
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
- Able to use own initiative and work alone.
- Ability to achieve targets.
- Able to recognize limits of competency and seek advice from colleagues.
- Able to identify areas where change is needed, embrace new ideas, and with the support of senior colleagues implement change.
- To have experience in recruitment and retention of staff.
- Maintain professional competency and evidence of CPD.
- Able to travel all sites within the Trust and to venues for training.
- Weekend and Bank holiday working as per rota.
- Late duties as per rota.
