About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our dedicated Ophthalmic Theatres team at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating theatre environment
  • Provide support to the surgical team during procedures
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance initiatives
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor to junior staff

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner qualification and current registration with the NMC/HCPC
  • Experience of working in a theatre environment, preferably in an ophthalmic setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
