Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in North Middlesex University Hospital. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in our inpatient rehabilitation services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess the occupational needs of patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
  • Conduct initial and standardized OT assessments, formulate client-centered goals, and evaluate treatment programs.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment provision, and contribute to the development of OT service plans.
  • Manage a caseload of patients with complex needs, taking on the role of care coordinator and/or vocational lead where relevant.
  • Develop and implement patient-centered individual and/or group interventions using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and modify treatment to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.
  • Apply a high level of understanding of the effect of disability and provide training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the client's social and physical environment.
  • Identify unmet needs in the service and advise the Band 7 OT as necessary.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Relevant CPD courses.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize own workload.
  • Ability to problem-solve and use clinical reasoning for a complex caseload.
  • Ability to reflect on and critically appraise own performance.
  • Ability to delegate and support/supervise junior staff, including teaching and training.
  • Ability to use supervision constructively.
