Job Title: Senior Category Technologist

Fortnum & Mason is seeking a highly skilled Senior Category Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the technical aspects of our New Product Development (NPD) process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the technical aspects of NPD, including supplier approval and specification sign-off.
  • Ensure all products developed and launched meet external commitments, product safety, and legal due diligence requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, risk, and traceability, and implement and maintain a sustainable supplier quality management system.
  • Perform supplier site visits and audits, and drive positive changes within the supply base.
  • Coordinate and provide quantifiable metrics to assess supplier performance against technical and CSR targets.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver NPD right first time.
Requirements:
  • Scientific degree or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a technical area in retailing or manufacturing.
  • Experience in influencing cross-functional teams to deliver new processes.
  • Gated development process experience is a key requirement.
  • Supplier auditing experience, specification creation, and sign-off experience is required.
