Position Overview

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of service and support when accessing healthcare services. This position requires a friendly and professional demeanor to assist patients effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all operational procedures.
  • Adhere to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Organize and update patient records as necessary.
  • Manage incoming correspondence and ensure proper filing.
  • Perform photocopying tasks as requested.

Reception Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and liaise with healthcare professionals.
  • Distribute completed prescriptions to patients while verifying their details.
  • Be prepared to cover various reception roles as needed.

Appointment Management:

  • Handle appointment requests from patients both over the phone and in person.
  • Address patient inquiries and requests efficiently.

Computer Operations:

  • Register new patients and maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Update patient information, including address changes, in the system.
  • Process prescription requests in line with established guidelines.

Telephone Management:

  • Utilize the telephone system effectively during operational hours.
  • Provide coverage for telecommunication duties when required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in cleaning and preparing rooms post-surgery.
  • Ensure the security of the premises by being familiar with access points and alarm systems.
  • Complete any other tasks assigned by management.

  • Uphold the confidentiality of patient information and adhere to privacy policies.
  • Access sensitive information only as authorized and in accordance with practice policies.
