As a Chef, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen. Ensuring proper food storage practices and stock rotation in accordance with established guidelines. Preparing, planning, and cooking meals to consistently high standards, accommodating special requests or dietary needs. Serving clients, staff, and visitors with food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner. Preparing and producing food for events and gatherings. Participating in food cost analysis through effective cost management procedures. Complying with 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and maintaining accurate records. Strictly adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and safety protocols at all times. Taking full responsibility for the catering operations during your shift. Supporting the Head Chef by researching and developing new menus that ensure high-quality meals align with healthy eating guidelines. Accurately documenting all paperwork related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system (HACCP), including temperature logs and cleaning schedules.To excel in this role, you will need:
To be at least 18 years old. GCSE or equivalent in English. City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) in Basic Food Preparation and Cooking. Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential). Intermediate Food Hygiene certification (desirable). Previous experience in a similar culinary environment. Experience in providing service for large groups. Skills in menu planning, costing, ordering, stock management, and budgeting.Work Environment:
You will provide care and support to young individuals aged 12-18 facing Eating Disorders or related challenges, including mental health issues such as depression, OCD, anxiety, or self-harm.
