Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Senior Measurement Compliance Officer to join our esteemed Trading Standards division at Lancashire County Council.

About the Role: As a qualified Metrology expert, you will possess the technical knowledge and experience necessary to fulfill our statutory responsibilities. Our dedicated Metrology Team operates within the Trading Standards Service, collaborating with various teams, including food standards, to deliver essential statutory services to a diverse range of businesses and external stakeholders. Your role will involve advising, guiding, and promoting legal compliance, with enforcement actions taken when necessary, to safeguard both businesses and consumers in Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advisory Role: We are looking for a knowledgeable and influential Metrology professional to provide expert advice to local businesses, ensuring compliance with the legal requirements outlined in the Weights and Measures Act 1985. Your technical expertise will be crucial in making informed decisions that encourage businesses to adhere to their statutory obligations, thereby minimizing the need for enforcement actions.

Analytical Skills: As a detail-oriented and methodical thinker, you will be responsible for recording and analyzing metrics, assessing timelines, and planning accordingly to gather necessary data.
