About the Role:

The Academics team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist secondary school in Addlestone, Surrey. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, including autism, Down's syndrome, speech and language challenges, and social, emotional needs.

About the School:

The school provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges of our students. With a focus on implementing effective communication strategies, our classes range from 6-8 students, allowing for personalized support and attention. Our therapeutic curriculum offers all the subjects a secondary-aged student should expect, with some students going on to achieve GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their academic and personal needs, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons, providing individualized support and feedback.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage students and promote learning.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and deliver lessons, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
