As a Clinical Risk Engineer, you will be instrumental in upholding safety standards and fostering a safety-oriented culture across the organization. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Patient Safety and Risk Management, offering technical expertise to improve clinical quality and safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Clinical Safety Engineering, delivering guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide safety engineering insights to the platform, ensuring the reliability of Health IT systems.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing Clinical/Patient Safety and managing accreditation processes.
- Support the assurance of safety features in Health IT systems throughout their operational lifecycle.
- Work in partnership with clinical and technical teams to address safety incidents and perform root cause analyses.
- Oversee compliance with pertinent clinical safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Hazard Logs and Clinical Safety Case Reports (CSCR).
- Contribute to proposals and modifications, emphasizing Clinical Safety and Risk Management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
- Background in Clinical Safety Engineering or a willingness to pursue training in this area.
- Understanding of national Clinical Risk and Safety Management standards (DCB0129, DCB0160).
- Familiarity with regulatory standards for Medical Devices.
- Proficient in Risk Management software (e.g., Radar, Datix, JIRA).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
