As a Clinical Risk Engineer, you will be instrumental in upholding safety standards and fostering a safety-oriented culture across the organization. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Patient Safety and Risk Management, offering technical expertise to improve clinical quality and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Clinical Safety Engineering, delivering guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide safety engineering insights to the platform, ensuring the reliability of Health IT systems.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing Clinical/Patient Safety and managing accreditation processes.
  • Support the assurance of safety features in Health IT systems throughout their operational lifecycle.
  • Work in partnership with clinical and technical teams to address safety incidents and perform root cause analyses.
  • Oversee compliance with pertinent clinical safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Hazard Logs and Clinical Safety Case Reports (CSCR).
  • Contribute to proposals and modifications, emphasizing Clinical Safety and Risk Management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
  • Background in Clinical Safety Engineering or a willingness to pursue training in this area.
  • Understanding of national Clinical Risk and Safety Management standards (DCB0129, DCB0160).
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards for Medical Devices.
  • Proficient in Risk Management software (e.g., Radar, Datix, JIRA).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
