Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer to join our team at TipTopJob. As a CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and finalizing designs ready for manufacture and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects from start to finish, taking ownership and ensuring timely completion.
  • Conduct thorough research to support project designs, providing detailed information as required.
  • Collaborate with production and installation teams to ensure designs are manufactured and installed to the highest standard.
  • Produce construction issue drawings from information provided by commercial teams, site teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Consult with clients and subcontractors throughout the design phase to coordinate design works.
  • Work with the commercial team and design manager to ensure projects are designed on budget and within scope.
  • Produce fabrication drawings, cutting schedules, and assembly details using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Liaise with site installation teams to ensure designs are interpreted correctly and address any on-site design issues.
  • Attend design meetings with clients to discuss design requirements.
  • Develop manuals for end clients to maintain supplied products.

Requirements

  • Previous CAD design experience is essential, with 2-3 years of relevant experience and a portfolio of previous work.
  • Experience producing design and fabrication drawings in a construction and manufacture environment is advantageous.
  • 2+ years experience with Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks) in a professional environment.
  • 2+ years experience with AutoCAD in a professional environment (construction related preferable).
  • Strong understanding of designing to suit manufacturing and installation constraints.
  • Experience with sheet metal is desirable.
  • Good team player and flexible approach to work.
  • Proficiency with standard proprietary PC software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good communication, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • Current driving license (a must due to location).
