POSITION OVERVIEW
The Junior IT Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in addressing technical inquiries and implementing system modifications related to epay's transaction solutions. This position involves the configuration and evaluation of new offerings and services, primarily utilizing Microsoft SQL, while collaborating closely with internal IT Project Managers. The individual will also engage in the development of tools and applications on a Windows platform, with a focus on C# to enhance task automation and boost team productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior IT Operations Specialist will undertake the following responsibilities:
- Configuration and testing of databases for new products and services.
- Diagnosis, testing, and resolution of technical issues.
- Providing daily support as needed for both internal and external clients.
- Generating ad-hoc reports for internal management and external clients using SQL scripts and stored procedures.
- Improving internal processes to enhance performance, reliability, and usability through custom software development.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field from a recognized university.
- Strong academic background with good GCSEs and A-levels.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, or Python.
- A willingness to learn C# programming and T-SQL.
- Experience with the Visual Studio Development environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A solid technical foundation and knowledge base.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
