As a Refuse Collection Operative, you will engage in a variety of skilled waste management and recycling tasks, ensuring adherence to the Environmental Protection Act, local policies, and health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks related to the collection of household, industrial, and commercial waste from diverse locations, ensuring safe operation of vehicle mechanisms and compliance with risk assessments.
  • Participate in planning daily routes based on service requests and complete necessary documentation.
  • Evaluate recycling materials for contamination and provide guidance to the public on recycling practices.
  • Inform the community about available recycling schemes and the full range of services offered by Land Services.
  • Identify waste streams such as recyclables, metals, and green waste, ensuring proper disposal methods are followed.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning situations, including chemical spills, and assist emergency services as needed.
