Mathematics Teacher

Salary: £30,000 - £46,525

Location: Southampton

Job Type: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education is seeking a skilled Mathematics Teacher to join our team at one of our SEN schools in Southampton. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching mathematics and the ability to adapt to the needs of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver mathematics lessons that align with the national curriculum and meet the needs of individual students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students and support their learning, including lectures, group work, and practical experiments.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments, homework assignments, and tests.
  • Provide feedback to students and parents on their academic progress, including identifying areas for improvement and strategies for success.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or qualification (PGCE, QTS).
  • Prior experience teaching science to school students.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
