About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering our Data Strategy agenda across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, test, and deploy data products based on feeds from multiple systems, using a range of different storage technologies and access methods.
  • Deliver data solutions in accordance with agreed standards to ensure services are resilient, scalable, and future-proof.
  • Design, code, test, correct, and document programs or scripts under the direction of others.
  • Resolve data quality issues, explain, and resolve (cleanse) the types of data quality issues in databases, data processes, data products, and services, ensuring the data is fit for purpose.
  • Communicate effectively with analysts and data scientists to understand and articulate their data engineering requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of data models.
  • Document metadata to agreed standards to enable it to be held in repositories.
About the Team

The Data Strategy & Services department drives the FCA's Data Strategy by enhancing the value of data through data management, governance, and analysis activities and providing central coordination of all data-related activities.
