Countryside Conservation Officer

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Newry Mourne and Down to assist with the appointment of a Countryside Warden on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- To contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of strategies, policies, and procedures to meet current and future requirements for Tyrella and Murlough Beaches, in line with best practice and changes in legislation that support the Council's Corporate Plan.
- To conduct market research and promote facilities, including seeking appropriate funding, to develop a range of events aimed at encouraging greater enjoyment, use, and appropriate public access consistent with a visitor attraction and conservation area.
- To identify and agree an appropriate program that meets the demands of the visitor attraction sector while remaining environmentally sensitive in terms of the conservation of the countryside experience.
- To carry out risk assessments for all countryside water hazards to ensure compliance with the Council's Water Safety policy.
- To lead, motivate, and appraise staff reporting directly to the post holder within agreed timescales, promoting the development of staff to ensure the coordination of all work programs to meet and achieve the objectives of the Council.
Requirements:
- You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
- You should have the right to work in the U.K.
