Hygiene Supervisor (Days, 4 on, 4 off)

Cranswick Country Foods PLC is seeking a dedicated Hygiene Supervisor to oversee our Day Shift Team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the hygiene team to effectively implement hygiene protocols that ensure our manufacturing facility adheres to regulatory standards and meets customer expectations for cleanliness, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Microbial Control.

Key Responsibilities:

Meet and maintain hygiene targets as set by the Hygiene Manager. Supervise and mentor hygiene operatives while fostering effective communication across all departments with a positive and approachable demeanor. Train hygiene operatives to uphold high standards of performance, safety, hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), and discipline. Conduct hygiene audits and perform detailed microbial trend analyses to identify areas for process improvement and enhance communication. Collaborate with the Technical Department regarding daily hygiene audits and microbial testing results. Ensure all staff are equipped with the necessary PPE and that it is utilized properly. Organize and coordinate hygiene aspects of external audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed to maintain compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Manage labor costs within budgetary constraints as directed by the Hygiene Manager. Identify hygiene needs by monitoring production environment changes and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and master cleaning schedules to ensure safe food production in line with regulatory and customer standards. Perform ATP swabs and chemical titration checks. Ensure all staff are accounted for and that operations run efficiently during shifts. Inspect production lines to verify cleaning effectiveness and arrange for re-cleaning when necessary. Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations regarding the handling, storage, and labeling of chemicals.

Candidate Qualifications:

Previous supervisory experience in a high-risk food environment is preferred. Strong leadership and motivational capabilities. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and make informed decisions. Positive, can-do attitude. Understanding of health and safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
