Job Title: Senior Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to join our team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of complex and high-risk construction and refurbishment projects.

About the Role

The Senior Construction Project Manager will work closely with the Head of Construction and other project managers to deliver new build, refurbishment, and backlog maintenance projects. The role requires a strong understanding of construction management principles, including project planning, financial control, and contract supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of complex construction and refurbishment projects
  • Work closely with the Head of Construction and other project managers to deliver projects
  • Develop and implement project management frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Provide technical advice on contracts and construction to clients
  • Lead on the implementation of BIM and GSL in line with STFC Estates Policy
  • Line manage Construction Project Managers and general management of the wider project team's performance
Requirements
  • Relevant professional qualification related to the construction industry and/or membership of a relevant professional body
  • Project Management Qualifications or educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering or construction discipline
  • Extensive technical experience within a lead role of managing a large and complex construction project portfolio
  • Excellent track record in project planning, financial control, and contract supervision
