Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at HUC's Luton Urgent Treatment Centre. As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Autonomously undertaking clinical assessments, diagnosing, treating, and discharging patients with a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Managing uncomplicated fractures, minor ENT and ophthalmic presentations, and wound closure.
  • Providing advice and health education to patients as appropriate.
  • Supporting access for patients within the IUCH opening hours and facilitating a clear patient pathway.
  • Enabling patients to carry out self-care as appropriate, through effective communication of healthcare advice.
  • Recognizing the acutely ill patient and the need for urgent/emergency treatment, acting appropriately with other clinical support as required.
  • Identifying any safeguarding concerns and making appropriate referrals following safeguarding processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • NMC registration as a nurse.
  • Minor illness/Minor Injury qualification (L6 or L7).
  • Triage/streaming experience.
  • Evidence of working with a variety of patients requiring triaging assessment and treatment (minimum of 1 year experience).
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
