We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our Rail team at Frankham Consultancy Group. This is an exciting opportunity to support the wider Infrastructure Engineering team, which includes Maritime and Asset Management.
About the Role
- As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for leading projects and teams, providing technical support, and determining project scope, budget, and programme.
- You will be responsible for the financial, technical, and project management of various projects, including supervising and approving technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements.
- You will also be responsible for undertaking and leading inspections, examinations, and scoping visits with clients, as well as assisting with the promotion of the company's capabilities to existing and prospective clients.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a civil/structural engineering role, ideally within the Rail sector and on Infrastructure projects.
- Experience of leading projects and teams with associated financial management.
- Extensive design experience in a range of civil engineering projects in the Rail sector.
- Proven experience of delivering projects to time and budget.
- Good commercial awareness, including profit and loss, budgeting, and contract management.
- Strong experience of Eurocodes, Network Rail, Railway Group, and British Standards.
- Strong experience of Network Rail engineering assurance process and procedures.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software, such as Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer (2D/3D frame), S-frame 3D, Robot, SuperStress, MIDAS, LUSAS, etc.
- Proficient use of MS office-based software.
