Job Title: Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our food testing and analytical services team at SGS.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting tests and analysis to ensure the safety and compliance of food products with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

You will work in a laboratory environment, detecting potential hazards and reporting on findings and data, including instrument failures, equipment out of tolerance, QC failures, and abnormal readings/results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory tests and analysis to ensure food products meet quality and safety standards
  • Identify potential hazards and report findings and data to relevant stakeholders
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of food safety regulations and standards

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow procedures and processes accurately
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including communication and active listening
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, and LIM systems
