Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Community Paediatrician to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in community paediatrics, with a particular focus on neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD and ASD.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of outpatient referrals for school-age children with suspected neurodevelopmental difficulties, particularly ADHD and ASD.
- Provide ongoing management and care to children and young people with a range of disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Take on direct responsibility for the care of children with learning and physical disabilities at a local Special School.
- Participate in the existing Safeguarding on-call rota, including for children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse in-hours, and child death.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Community Paediatrician to join our dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to children and families in our community. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safeguarding and will be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
- Full GMC Registration.
- CCT in Community/General Paediatrics or eligible for above within 6 months of appointment.
- Wide community paediatric experience, including neurodisability.
- Experience teaching medical students.
