Senior Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Ground Engineering team at Ed Zueblin AG - UK Branch. As a key member of our tender team, you will be responsible for developing and presenting tender information, working closely with clients to define project requirements, and identifying opportunities for optimization.

• Develop and present tender information, including estimates for ground engineering projects, to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Work closely with clients to define project requirements, clarify tender queries, and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Manage tender design work, including internal or external design resources, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Participate in the tender team to develop solutions, programs, and methods of construction, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Liaise with the procurement department and supply chain to obtain quotations for resources, materials, and services.
• Arrange commercial reviews of draft subcontract documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Incorporate current subcontract and material costs into the tender cost estimation, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Drive value engineering, temporary works, and other technical elements of cost estimation, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Price tender enquiries using iTWO Estimating software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Complete risk and chance analysis, identifying high risks and concerns, and presenting findings to senior management.
• Prepare tender and governance documentation, presenting at price review meetings, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage input and maintenance of tender project details in the global project database, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
• Compile offer letters, including programs and supporting documentation, as required by the ITT.
• Assist the bid team in post-tender negotiations, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
• Price preliminaries and reconcile pricing with the planning team, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Develop and mentor junior estimating staff, contributing to the growth and development of the team.
• Contribute to the development of estimating standards and systems for the business unit, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

• BEng/BSc qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, or related degree (HNC/HND considered).
• Significant experience within the construction sector, with a sound technical knowledge of geotechnical products and solutions.
• Knowledge of commercial conditions, including NEC, and design process.
• Experience in estimating ground engineering projects.
• Computerized estimating systems and IT skills, as appropriate.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Experience of working on large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design.
• Experience of producing tender programs.
