Job Title: Out of Hours Community Staff Nurse

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Out of Hours Community Staff Nurse to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health issues, working collaboratively with other professionals to deliver holistic care plans.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients with mental health issues, including planning and implementing holistic care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
  • Develop relationships with other professionals, patients, and their families/carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assess risk using relevant assessment tools and escalate as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Provide home treatment, upskilling carers to support their young people at home, and supporting young people with eating disorders via therapeutic meal support.
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant parties, including patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Apply up-to-date professional knowledge and evidence-based practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Provide clinical supervision to a small number of junior staff or student nurses, promoting their development and growth.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse and/or another appropriate registered nurse training (RMN, Children's Nurse, Learning Disability).
  • To be able to demonstrate ongoing professional development.
  • A willingness to develop skills and knowledge in working with patients with an eating disorder and/or Emotional Dysregulation.
  • Ability to travel independently and efficiently to deliver clinical care from multiple sites, including service user homes.

Person Specification

  • Education/Qualifications: Registered Nurse and/or another appropriate registered nurse training (RMN, Children's Nurse, Learning Disability).
  • Training: To be able to demonstrate ongoing professional development.
  • Previous Experience: Six months post-qualifying experience, experience of supervising junior staff, and experience of working with young people.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: A willingness to develop skills and knowledge in working with patients with an eating disorder and/or Emotional Dysregulation, ability to communicate effectively with other professionals, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
