SEM Teaching Assistant Role in Luton

We are working with fantastic SEN schools across Luton that provide for children with wide-ranging educational and social needs.

The schools are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant who can ensure children reach their full potential, through high standards of teaching and learning.

This is a challenging role that will put you into sometimes difficult contexts that will build your foundations of experience.

With this LSA role, de-escalation and the language around it are incredibly important.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children with special educational needs in a SEMH setting
  • Work as part of a team, alongside teaching and support staff
  • Use your initiative to support learning and provide personal care where necessary
  • Support a pupil with personal care where necessary
Requirements:
  • Personal/Professional experience with children and/or young people is desirable but not essential
  • A caring individual with energy, drive and enthusiasm
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to get one
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, at level 2 or above
  • Live locally to Luton
What We Offer:
  • Competitive pay rate of £85-£95 per day, including holiday pay
  • Full-time role, 8:30am to 3:45pm
