Role OverviewThe primary responsibility of the Quality Control Production Lead is to ensure that all products dispatched from ISS comply with customer expectations regarding safety, quality, and legality.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee Quality Standards: Maintain and uphold quality benchmarks across all product lines.
- Effective Communication: Liaise with the Quality Assurance team regarding pertinent issues.
- Packaging Compliance: Ensure that all product packaging and information meet or surpass customer and legal requirements.
- QA Rota Preparation: Organize the Production and shelf life Quality Assurance schedule.
- Training and Development: Provide comprehensive training for new members of the quality team.
- Safety Management: Promote a safe working environment by reporting hazards or near misses to the QA manager or Shift Production Manager.
- Equipment Calibration: Supervise and monitor the calibration of equipment utilized by the Quality Control team.
- Customer Communication: Address any quality concerns with customers through verbal and written communication.
- Specification Management: Ensure the QA team has access to the most current specifications.
- Performance Contribution: Work efficiently to meet the daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Quality Control Manager.
- Health and Safety Standards: Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
- Proven experience in quality control.
- Experience in a production or packhouse environment.
- Familiarity with fresh produce standards.
- Demonstrated flexibility, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
