Position Overview:

We are seeking two dedicated Culinary Support Staff members for our Catering & Retail Service division at the House of Lords. This role is ideal for individuals who uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organization, adhering to current health and food hygiene regulations at all times.

This position offers the chance to work onsite at a prestigious institution, with a schedule from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including sweeping and mopping floors, ensuring all surfaces are hygienically maintained as per the Line Manager's instructions.
  • Wash and sanitize heavy-duty cooking utensils, pots, and trays in designated pot wash sinks.
  • Polish and clean tarnished silverware and cutlery to maintain a pristine dining experience.
  • Prepare the dishwasher for daily operations by ensuring it is fully functional, stocked with necessary cleaning agents, and cleaned as directed by the Head Porter. Report any faults or chemical needs to the Head Porter.
  • Ensure all dirty crockery and cutlery are cleared from service lifts, washed in the appropriate dishwasher, and safely stored on designated shelves or sent to the correct outlet as required by waiting staff.
  • Comply with all legislative requirements related to food hygiene and workplace health and safety. Each staff member is responsible for identifying and reporting any safety and health hazards to the appropriate Health and Safety Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • A basic Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent and knowledge of COSHH is required. Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and Manual Handling is desirable.
