Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Rehabilitation

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Services team in Enfield. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Rehabilitation, you will play a key role in providing clinical leadership and expertise to our multidisciplinary team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team
  • Conduct clinical assessments and consultations for patients under the care of the Community Rehabilitation Team
  • Lead medical input and leadership in weekly multidisciplinary team care planning and risk management meetings
  • Responsible Clinician responsibilities, including attendance at and report-writing for Mental Health Tribunals and Managers hearings
  • Professional leadership and management activities related to the post and the wider service
  • Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and priorities for rehabilitation services across the Trust
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations and procedures covering clinical practice
  • Commit to fair access to services for all
  • Manage caseloads and respond to new patients as referred
  • Liaise with Trust services and relevant non-statutory organizations
  • Maintain good relations with General Practitioners and other stakeholders
  • Participate in teaching and training of other disciplines
  • Contribute to academic activities, including attendance and participation in academic meetings and journal clubs
  • Lead role in audit and other procedures to ensure good clinical governance
  • Engage in research supported within the Trust
Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Listed on the Specialist Register of the GMC Medical Register or eligible to register within six months
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualifications/certification
  • Approved under Section 12 of the 1983 Mental Health Act
  • Approved Clinician status
  • Training and experience in evidence-based interventions for rehabilitation
  • Membership of a professional indemnity organization
  • Engagement with annual appraisal
  • Experience of Safeguarding Children Framework
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary teaching
  • Ability to take a leadership role in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written media
  • Registered for the Continuing Professional Development Program in the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Publications in the field of Psychiatry
  • Management skills and experience of developing a service component
  • Experience working with different cultural backgrounds and beliefs
  • Demonstrable ability to relate well to people with chronic mental health issues and their families
  • Team player to fit in with multi-professional team
  • Approachable attitude to team members

Salary: £99,532 to £131,964 per annum, including HCAS.
