Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Administrator to join our dynamic team at the University of Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our research projects, ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory and contributing to the development of our research objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Research Project Coordination
    • Assist in the coordination of research projects, including the development of research proposals and the management of research grants.
    • Provide administrative support to research teams, including the preparation of reports and the organization of meetings.
  • Laboratory Management
    • Ensure the efficient operation of the laboratory, including the maintenance of equipment and the management of supplies.
    • Develop and implement procedures for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Research Development
    • Contribute to the development of research objectives and proposals.
    • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of research data.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • A degree in a relevant field, such as microbiology, biochemistry or a related discipline.
    • Experience in a research laboratory or a related field.
  • Skills
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • High level of analytical capability.
