Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

At Thames Water, we are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of construction projects, identifying risks and issues, and working with stakeholders to resolve them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting essential design and delivery reviews, identifying risks and issues, and working with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Assessing and reporting project progress, acting to rectify issues, and taking the lead on the escalation process if necessary.
  • Managing identification and resolution of snags and after Take Over liaising with Operators and contractors to handle the defects and aftercare process and performance testing.
  • Ensuring that the required project documentation meets our specifications and approve information for taking over.
  • Working as an active member of one or more project teams with one or more of our contractors.
Requirements:
  • HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or background in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites or holding of SMSTS qualification.
  • Understanding of design, construction, and operations within industries like the water sector.
  • Background in project delivery within the construction sector.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary from £40,000 per annum to £60,000 per annum.
  • Car allowance of £4,500 a year.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
  • Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% - 2x employee contribution.
  • Personal Medical Assessments – Open to all once a year.
