Position Overview
Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Design Engineer to enhance our in-house design capabilities. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in our team, contributing to the development of innovative designs tailored for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial project assessments and compile comprehensive project scope documentation.
- Perform essential process calculations and determine the sizing of process units.
- Develop and finalize Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Ensure adherence to design validation and approval protocols, including compliance with client-specific technical governance.
- Draft Process Control Philosophies to guide project execution.
- Oversee all design development activities, including multi-disciplinary interface reviews, ensuring alignment with client specifications and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate design meetings, including Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs).
- Serve as the Design Lead for designated projects.
- Specify temporary treatment measures to prevent consent breaches during construction.
- Address engineering inquiries raised throughout the construction phase of projects.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical foundation in the design and operation of water and wastewater systems or similar sectors. Candidates should demonstrate proven problem-solving skills to meet specific client needs.
- Significant experience in process engineering or a related field.
- Experience in process design engineering within municipal water or wastewater sectors is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work independently or lead a team effectively.
- Experience across all design phases, from feasibility studies through to construction support and final handover is preferred.
- Familiarity with plant commissioning and operational processes is beneficial.
- Understanding of strategic planning and risk management methodologies.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possession of a valid UK Driving Licence.
