Position Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

 Initial salary placement will typically be at the starting point of the pay scale.

Role Objective: This position is accountable for ensuring that all mechanical engineering maintenance tasks and services executed by or on behalf of The Highland Council are conducted safely and effectively managed throughout the Council's properties.

The role involves delivering: a professional service, technical guidance, and comprehensive information on all facets of electrical engineering installations, including oversight, design, operation, and maintenance, in accordance with the Council's policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the establishment of standards for the specification, design, and management of electrical engineering services.

Qualifications

Candidates must be able to travel efficiently between various work sites within Highland to fulfill the operational needs of the Service.

A minimum of HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering is required, along with relevant experience in managing electrical engineering installations and overseeing maintenance contracts for non-domestic/public buildings.

Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, NBS) is essential.

Candidates should be working towards corporate membership of a recognized professional organization.
