Role Summary

As a Marine Fire Safety Supervisor, you will operate within a sensitive defense contract environment, ensuring the safety of personnel and property from fire hazards and accidents. Your role will also involve minimizing reputational and financial risks while safeguarding information and assets around the facility, contributing to the overall success of the operational team.

In collaboration with your team, you will be tasked with the protection of individuals and assets, which requires the ability to navigate and work in confined spaces. Maintaining a level of personal fitness is essential, and you will be required to pass a medical assessment. You must be capable of working in low visibility, at heights, and in confined areas while utilizing breathing apparatus. This position operates on a shift basis throughout the year.

There may be occasions requiring work in challenging environments, including but not limited to elevated work, confined spaces, and outdoor settings. Your training will equip you to handle these situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all hot work activities comply with Hot Work Permit protocols.
  • Monitor for potential fire hazards, including gas locations, flammable materials, and their storage and usage.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the work area and adjacent spaces before initiating any hot work.
  • Ensure visibility and adherence to all safety signage and warnings, and maintain proficiency in the use of portable fire-fighting equipment.
  • Coordinate with various trades during fire watch duties and manage system testing prior to hot work.
  • Perform any additional tasks as directed by the Fire Manager within your capabilities.
Essential Qualifications
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Five-year verifiable work history.
  • Possession of a British passport for the past five years.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Ability to work independently following appropriate training.
  • Solid understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Effective communication skills.
